Did not seem to be listening to me.

As someone who has been struggling with mental health, I feel I made a terrible decision scheduling an appointment with Dr. Libertati. I feel worse than before my appointment. He was judgemental, cold, argumentative and hung up on me on our virtual visit. This was my first attempt at counseling and it was such a horrible experience. It you are struggling, do yourself a favor and find someone else to talk to.

Stay away from Dr. Liberati. He will size you up after one short evaluation and then create a strictly regimented treatment plan and force you to stick with it, allowing no other factors to influence his diagnosis or therapeutic approach. He is cold, unfeeling, clinical, judgmental, unimaginative, and unhelpful. If I could get a refund for the year I spent going to him, I would request one. Every little comment you make about some minor difficulty or issue in your life since the last session is blown up into some catastrophic impediment to your recovery and overanalyzed within an inch of your life. He says he just wants to ask questions, but he doesn't really care what your answers are, he only spits them back into your face. If you are looking for a compassionate counselor with an open ear and heart, look elsewhere and save your money, regardless of if he takes your insurance or not.
