Ruth Campbell, LCSW

Ruth Campbell is part of Counseling Connections and was seen as a Marriage Counselor. She forces a specific communication and did not seem to care that it was causing more fights within the relationship. Her method of speaking over people and constantly cutting people off is disrespectful and does not help anyone feel heard. It seemed more like a class rather than a free flowing counseling. All of her "homework assignments" are emails of book pages. She pushes the term "baby steps" and did not want to set any realistic goals or time frames. She developed an immediate bias and made excuses for bad behaviors (infidelity) and took interest in only this persons issues and appeared annoyed when this was called out. At the very least Ruth's behavior is unprofessional...... If your looking for help in blaming everyone else for your poor behaviors and decisions, this is your counselor she will help you make those excuses. If you want to save yourself time and anxiety pick someone else.

I went to see Ruth when I was suffering from terrible physical panic attacks that made me feel/act like a hypochondriac. The amazing thing about working through this hard time of life with Ruth, is that we never talked about the actual panic attacks. We talked about my current life, and my past life, and things started to connect and make sense. She helped me to figure things out for myself. I no longer suffer from panic attacks, and very rarely feel any anxiety around my health anymore.

Did not appreciate her methods of talk therapy. Interrupts often in order to clarify but only left me feeling that I could not talk freely, as she tended to decide where the discussion lead rather than allow me to. When I expressed that I felt disregarded and talked down to she was visibly irritated with me and I was incredibly uncomfortable with how unprofessional this was. Felt that she saw me one dimensionally as a mentally ill client and absolutely would not recommend to others.
