He is hands down THE BEST medication prescriber that I have worked with. He listens better than any other psychiatrist I've met. He changed my prescriptions and I feel better than I have in decades. He also LISTENS and is incredibly empathetic. I'm confused about the negative reviews and wonder whether they were just miscommunications.

Patients beware! The coordinator explained that Rick was an R.N. and practiced under Dr. Adam Sky for prescriptions. Not ideal, but knew that going in. First meeting was OK and he even suggested I consider a sleep study. The 2nd appointment was to ensure my prescriptions were being managed. I had even brought in my empty pill container and told him my prior authorization expired. He never did anything. Then Rick claimed he had no idea I needed refills and accused me of accusing him. When I challenged him with what happened to the refill containers I brought in, he hung up on me. When I redialed the main phone number – he answered the phone and said he would not work with me again … so I informed him that he was out of line and I needed my refills. He said he would “give me one more month prescription” as if he had any rights to do so – it’s their practices’ policy to do so.

As I was preparing for an extended trip, I realized I would run out of medication while away. I called the office and asked if I scheduled my next appointment if they would authorize a refill. They scheduled my appointment and assured me they would refill the medication. Late that evening I received a notification from CVS that they had denied my refill request. The next day I tried calling several times and when I finally got to the office she snappily replied “I don’t know who told you that, Rick himself said you could not have more medication.” That was unprofessional, but I’m used to this behavior at this point and I asked why no one would have called me to alert me if I had made it clear I would be leaving the state? She said she would have “Rick call me.” He never did. I called back multiple times, even calling the after-hours exchange, leaving a detailed message for Dr. Sky (who was on-call) that I was out of medication and was concerned about abruptly stopping it.

I could not be more pleased with the exceptional level of care I have received from Rick. He truly takes time to listen and I feel none of the stigma that often accompanies seeking the right help. Also, I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment, SO APPRECIATIVE considering some terrible experiences with providers in the past!
