Multiple Important Diagnoses Missed
I was suggested/referred to Dr. Uth by my therapist at the time for a Neuropsychological Evaluation. I had a strong feeling that there was something else going on besides my depression and anxiety, and was hoping that through testing I would be able to figure out if this was the case. When I got the report back, I was told that I was not neurodivergent (more specifically, not ADHD).I continued to struggle for 2 more years, until I was suggested by a different medical professional for another Neuropsych Eval. When I got the report back from the second exam, I was told that I am autistic and have ADHD.It makes me upset that I went most of my life being undiagnosed autistic (+ ADHD), plus an additional and unneeded 2 more years. I should have been able to finally understand myself and learn about ways to accommodate myself in a neurotypical world. Instead, I spent 2 years constantly doubting myself and continuing to struggle. There are many, many missed opportunities from those 2 years.
