I had a scare at ER, lost some eyesight in one eye, pain was off the chart and ER suggested that I see a specialist. I called to get a refferal, I was told I need to come in so I did next day. I met with Rachel Risner and she said I can not have a referral unless I have a diagnosis - ( how is that possible ? ) I explained that is the reason I need a refferal to find out what is going on. She kept cutting me off and I asked if she had the nessesary tools to do a diagnosis here in office - she said no. I then said thats why I need to see a specialist. She then ( only 6 min into the appt ) asked me to leave. stood up and motioned for me to leave. I started to cry. I told her I dont understand and was scared - I was losing my eyesight and wanted to get into dean mcgee as soon as I could to stop the progress. She said just leave. I asked her why she was being so aggressive and she said because I was argueing with her... what? I switched primary care becuase of her that day. Grievance filed

Rachel seems good on paper, but in person, she is not a good healthcare provider. She is arrogant and is not interested in any collaboration or true consultation with patients. It is a one way conversation. She behaves as though she knows everything about every medical condition and every medication. If you share something you read online, even in a medical study, she seems insulted and attempts to make you feel stupid. I could tolerate that kind of arrogance and dismissiveness if she was a great provider. But she has been wrong more than once in her diagnosis and treatment of me.

Saw Rachel Mack when my regular CNP wasn't available and she is one of those homeopathic nut jobs that doesn't believe you should be taking any prescription meds and was telling me how bad all the meds my previous MD had me on and she was surprised I was alive despite having been on some of those meds for up to 6 years which serves as living proof. She puffed up on me when I challenged her on one of her statements and said she had two post-doctoral degrees. Avoid at all costs!
