Last year, sure I had the flu and went for a flu test. Rachel went on and on and on with questions, and ultimately I said ' I was just hoping to get a flu test, so if it is positive I can get some medicine'. I then got a bit of a lecture on being impolite, and after further back and forth she finally gave me a flu test, which was positive. Today with no voice, an very sore throat, she questioned me on and on and on. I just wanted a strep test. I was eventually exacerbated by the drilling. She didn't want to do the test and I said ok that's fine then, but then she still wanted to go on and on about it. I wanted a medical opinion, not a thesis or lecture on the topic. There is a difference between thorough, and just plain overkill. I don't need to be read research study results at the doctors office! There's a lot more, but at both visits it seemed to me that the most likely thing is usually the problem. Start there, not with the least likely thing, and I AM allowed brevity.
