This woman kept confusing me with another one of her patients. She began our first appointment acting like she knew me, until I told her this was my first time at the clinic. She then insisted that I get tested for STDs and start birth control. She had a very arrogant air about her: “I know what you need and you are ignorant to what you need.” I have a masters degree in nursing, information I did not share with her, because there was no need. I could tell she had already racially profiled me.

Sad that a serious injury is met with such indifference and judgement. Phyllis did not listen. "I don't know you," she says. This clinic has been my primary for approximately 10 years. She insisted on letting her stick a needle in my neck and head as a condition of being treated.
