Paula Goldstein, NP

Paula seems like she's not informed medicinally regarding addiction at all. She's rude & nasty; leaves the patient feeling belittled and discouraged. She makes judgmental, catty faces over telehealth appointments, super unprofessional! She clearly doesn't care about listening to the patient, as she instead uses all the appt time to rant about how terrible of a situation the patient is in. All the while providing zero help, zero encouragement, and I wonder if she's trying to keep people stuck, because it really felt like that. Paula is good at putting down and insulting patients. It blows my mind she's a nurse at Maple Grove, she very clearly despises anyone struggling with addiction. It's a cognitive cycle in the brain, not some villainous self-inflicted ailment. She's clearly got the stigma that's so widely known about addiction. Definitely would not recommend her for anything. You'll be left feeling discouraged and want to give up. the opposite of helpful and SO unprofessional!

She did everything she could to discourage the patient from getting treatment or testing to diagnose suspected ailments. Did not listen at all. Did her best to NOT be helpful and instead discouraged me. Refused to help with anything, and instead used the whole appointment to belittle and demoralize me, ranting about my addiction and how terrible I am. This woman should NOT be in healthcare. She should NOT be a patient-facing person. Vindictive is what she is. Doesn't even have minimal respect for her patients. Went off on rants about the struggles I'm experiencing and how I seem to like my lifestyle! Treats addiction as if the patient is some evil villain, instead of someone who's ill and in need of treatment (this isn't the 1950s, but she operates as if it is using zero current knowledge. Instead of feeling helped, the patient is crying and extremely upset, feeling like what's the point of trying? after being treated so horribly by someone who allegedly is supposed to be helpful. RUN.
