Dr. Paul Puntney, OD

I give Dr. Puntney 5 stars ...ALONE.. by himself. He is always so thorough and friendly. His staff, on the other hand, is not always as friendly as he is. I went to pick up contacts for my husband one day and they "assumed" we didn't have insurance and tried charging us triple the price. When I said, "wait is that with the insurance?" She gave me the most absurd excuse and said, "well we are told not to ask the customer for insurance". Total lie because they've always asked before and I've been a customer since I was a teen. I was insulted. The look on my face let her know I wasn't buying it and that I was slowing getting pissed off. She quickly changed her tone and apologized. There was another staff member that kept quoting the price of the contacts I purchased as though it would be a problem for me to pay it. She may have been new but she wasn't personable and had the most stank attitude.

First time my family and I received correct prescription for both eye glasses and contacts. Great pretesting and front desk staff. Highly recommended!

Dr. Puntney is very thorough. He was the first optometrist I saw for glasses last year. My prescription was perfect, so I returned again this year. His staff is courteous and polite both on the phone and in person. I highly recommend his office.

I have seen four eye doctors in waco, Dr Puntney is the only who gave me a prescription that I can see with. Dr Puntney is the best eye doctor in waco, his staff is so friendly and nice. Very satisfied with my experience in his office.

I was able to get in to see Dr. Putney within the week that I called. His staff were friendly and professional, as was he. I felt that each of them treated me with courtesy and respect, which should be the minimum, but that is not always the case. Dr. Putney's charges were at the lower end of the offices I researched. His exam was thorough, and he explained each step of the exam and gave feedback after each step was complete. I would be happy to recommend him to friends and family.

They're not bad as far as eye doctors go (there's better though if you don't like rude staff). But maybe, when leaving a voicemail, make sure you completely hang the phone up before talking about the person you just called??
