While traveling in India, I contracted a GI bug with vomiting, diarrhea, etc. Got an antibiotic over there and it was working, except after I finished the course of antibiotics I had nausea again. I made an appointment @ Hennepin & I saw Nurse Weaver. Told her my situation and asked if I could simply get a follow-up course of antibiotics as they were working. She wouldn't do it. I told her I don't even like antibiotics so the fact that I'm asking for them is saying a lot. I told her I have very good intuition about my body. She said, "We don't go by intuition... we follow a step-wise procedure." If that's the case, why not give me a robot-doctor; it would have done as much. About how I noticed the antibiotic working, she said, "that may have been a placebo." How invalidating can you be to a patient? I can't imagine seeing Nurse Weaver would be helpful for any condition, but maybe she's able to help patients instead of making them feel like they never want to go the doctor again.
