Did Not Treat Me Like a Patient
Treated me like a page in a medical book instead of a human. I was in the process of being treated for a suspected mood disorder, and she did not listen to me at all! I had a notebook where I meticulously tracked my moods and she didn’t even spare a glance at it. She claimed that bipolar disorder only has a few types when in reality there is a wide mood disorder spectrum where people can have a wide variety of symptoms. She claimed that people with mood disorders cannot experience both mania and depression in the same day which is NOT true! She tried to take me off of my mood stabilization medication, which I had seen great results with over the past couple of months, and I had to advocate for myself to stay on it. The fact that she claims to be an expert in mood disorders is absolutely abhorrent. Find a nurse practitioner who views their patients as humans.
