Nicole Knee, RD

Nicole Knee has been my bariatric nutritionist for over seven years. During this time, I have found her to be a wonderful advocate. Not only is she a support and positive guidance for making good food choices, but she is a champion at getting me to accept myself and my limitations. She has demonstrated outstanding listening skills which has led her to become much more aware of what is was impacting my life. When I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, she went out of her way to research and send me articles of interest on that subject. Nicole has been a fantastic dietician, cheerleader and a friend for me .

She is excellent, she is very knowledgeable and compassionate about proteins and healthy eating.

She consistently reports inaccurately to the rest of the bariatric team about what was said during our appointments, and makes conclusions and recommendations that are completely outside her purview or expertise. Ask to be assigned to a different dietician; she is extremely harmful to the process. I am leaving the Baystate bariatric program and going to a different one thanks entirely to the run-around I’ve received from her.

I spent an entire year monitoring 90 meals a month under her supervision. She would regularly misreport a summary of these logs to the bariatric oversight committee at baystate. For example, if I ate her recommended diet 3 times a day for 29 days, and on day 30 ate a bowl of fruit loops because i was traveling, her report for that month was "patient continues to eat surgary foods, not taking surgery seriously". At support groups I corroborated this behavior with several other of her patients.
