I've had reservations about seeking counseling or therapy so this was a big step for me. Unfortunately, Ms. Dendy confirmed every reservation I had. I was hoping to receive counseling for issues that have brought me low and seek the next steps, but all I was met with was disinterest and silence. She asked me very few questions, and the very few she did ask were questions I had already answered. One question she asked me had nothing to do with anything I had said. To me, this shows that she wasn't actually listening to what I was saying, or didn't care enough to take notes. If I wasn't talking, then we were sitting there in silence. It absolutely made me feel like I didn't matter. Maybe my concerns and situation didn't matter to Ms. Dendy, but they mattered to me and that's why I sought help. Our session was supposed to be 50 minutes, I cut it off at 30 since this was clearly a waste of her time and mine. I would not suggest meeting with Ms. Dendy.
