Miyuki Kanda, LMFT

We interviewed Kanda at length before signing up. She interviewed us as well. But after just 5 sessions (and $1100) it was clear that Kanda's slow-to-work soft style was a mismatch. She was not strong enough to corral us when we needed corralling; at multiple times she simply appeared helpless and confused. This need isnt unreasonable: couples coming for counseling tend to disagree on things (or they wouldn't need counseling). After 5 sessions, Kanda told us she didn't think she could help us. Then she called an hour later, did a complete 180, apologized for abandoning us, said she wanted to continue with us. We looked at other sources, came back to Kanda, considered continuing with her. But, in ANOTHER 180 complete change up, Kanda now said she didn't think she could help us! She seems a nice person. But, in our opinion, lacks real experience and strength. It was a real waste of time & money. We can't identify 1 actionable thing we got out of it.
