We took our son who had just been diagnosed with celiac disease to see Misty Mullins. She stated that she had celiac disease as well and showed us an app she had on her phone that would tell if a food had gluten in it. She scanned the breakfast that she was eating and it had gluten.... not a good example. She then talked to him about "cheating" on the diet and told him to make it something "worthwhile". This was unprofessional and irresponsible. When he ingests gluten he has very severe reactions. To tell a child or anyone to cheat on the diet that keeps them well is just wrong on so many levels. Luckily, he said that the appointment with her was "a waste of time" and is diligent about being healthy and avoiding gluten. We all agreed that we would never suggest that anyone consult with her.
