I was moved to Dr. Willis when I turned 18 to treat my major depressive disorder, panic disorder, and GAD. Over three years, I only saw her for longer than a five minute appointment twice. Usually, all were with a forty-five minute wait. Her questions were the same as the ones you answer on the intake sheet she is supposed to review. She was dismissive and didn’t believe my symptoms or the severity. She wouldn’t change my antidepressant because she said I’d been on too many and they had a “13% chance” of ever working again. She would only add adjuncts, and at one time I was on five different medications for depression/anxiety. She told me my side effects didn’t make sense. She diagnosed me with bipolar by reading symptoms off a pamphlet, and when I told her my therapist (who I see for a lot longer, a lot more regularly) didn’t agree, she said she was wrong. My new doctor has said she is misinterpreting the studies, he put me on a new antidepressant and it worked immediately.
