At first Michelle seemed like an understanding and compassionate therapist, but I soon realized she was judgmental of my chronic illness and health situation. She would say things like, 'of course you are going to be depressed if you just lay in bed all day' with a smirk, or 'how do you think you are going to get a job after college if you are so tired all the time and can barely change your sheets?' Instead of actually helping me manage the stress of having both a chronic illness and depression, I felt really judged and ashamed to be struggling. And that is literally the last thing anyone needs from a therapist, who is supposed to be supporting you and helping you improve your life.

Michelle is not a safe person to be working with survivors of trauma. She is cold, judgmental, and shaming in her approach. It is unfortunate that she claims to be specialized in helping people with trauma/PTSD, when her style of therapy is so lacking in every single element of trauma-informed care.
