Dr. Michael Ryan, PHD

Dr. Ryan was very knowledgeable, did a fantastic and thorough job of testing my daughter, and the report he wrote was very helpful and reassuring for our family, and to provide to the school, given that they do not have anyone trained in identifying or providing specific dyslexia support. It was a huge relief to find someone qualified to do the testing, who covered both the cognitive aspects, and also addressed the psychological effects that the anxiety of dealing with dyslexia creates. He had great recommendations for tutoring, support, & accommodations. We had this done a while ago, and the one suggestion I wish we would have concentrated on more to get in front of the discouragement, was to make sure that she was succeeding, even if that meant slowing down the pace. She is now in college, and I wish we had had more help choosing classes that she would succeed in. Even though she is older & more independent, I realize she still needs someone on a regular basis to watch for overwhelm.

We tried four years to have someone diagnose our child correctly. We wasted four years on various agencies to try to figure out how to help and finally Dr. Ryan was able to. Thank you Dr. Ryan.
