I appreciate that he was a Firefighter and has life experience outside of medicine. He's caring and respectful. I like that he's on-point he asks good questions.

He either doesn't like his job enough to learn about mental health or he just simply doesn't care. First appointment went well. He was considering two separate diagnosis said we would discuss them next visit. However, he had me leave with four different medications and told me to "play around with them and see what works" Next visit a month later I had questions, which he didn't seem to appreciate.. And told me I was welcome to a second opinion. Then I asked about the diagnosis and he said that psychiatrists don't diagnose. If a diagnosis is what I was looking for I would have to go to a neuropsycologist And that they typically run ten thousand to fifteen thousand and insurance doesn't usually cover it. When discussing medications, He did not like my questions or concerns so I left his office with nothing. When I asked about a certain medication and having to be weaned off, He just said "you'll be fine" Regardless of the warnings not only in the information given from the pharmacy but Internet research stating the contrary. So when I left I asked him if i would be seeing him again and he said no. He had referred me to a different psychiatrist. Honestly don't waste your time there are many other options. All of them better than this.

Michael Macbrayne pretty much throws meds at you to see what sticks. He is easily exasperated if you question him and his answer isn't easily found on Google or his field guide to medications. His knowledge about the industry of psychology is a bit skewed. Would not recommend unless you want a label and meds to back it up.

I've worked with him for many months now. I feel like he really listens to me and is never condescending which I know is not always the case with psychiatrists. He is professional and fair. He can seem a bit disinterested and lacking in personality but I've gotten used to the way he is and it really doesn't bother me though I suppose it may bother others who want a psychiatrist who is more warm and expressively empathic.

Every appointment I've had with this man, I've left feeling ten times worst then going into it. He truly lacks empathy and does not act like he cares about what you're going through at all. He told me that I should go the hospital when I'm having panic attacks. I've never had a medical professional say that to me, and I will never see this man again after that.

The absolute worst - no compassion, no empathy, no interest in his patients. Disengaged, disinterested, and accusatory. I left every appointment feeling worse. Unsure why he chose this line of work, as he clearly hates what he does.

Terrible. Never refills my prescriptions on time. Lacks personality and empathy. Not a good provider.

I'd been a patient for almost a year and the first appointment I thought went well until I was given medication that I had a severe reaction to, I called the office and no response for almost a week until I get a call that, "He needs his patients to come in for appointments to review medications," despite me just having an appointment and the call being of an urgent nature. I scheduled another appointment as that was my only option from the staff - for 2 months out. In the mean time, I was struggling which I made clear and my therapist tried reaching out on multiple occasions to discuss my dx and needs, and no response from MacBrayne or his office. My mental health was significantly declining, and I ended up having to resign from my job, thus losing insurance. I managed to get an appointment before my insurance expired, but called the day before to check because I had not received an email notification . I found out it was never even scheduled. Please do not waste your time like I did.
