I had been going every year to her Triangle Town Center (next to Sears Optical) on either a Tuesday or a Friday when she would be there -- for my annual eye exam. She was, indeed, the best optometrist I had ever known in every parameter in about 50 years of being seen by a vast variety of them. June of 2016 was the last time I went in for an exam, though, and now I've discovered that the entire Sears Optical Dept. has been shut down from some time ago, and Melissa McBrien, O.D. also has gone.

I made an online appointment for 2 P.M. 8/30/2018. Granted, I made it the same day, but the system said it was available and confirmed it. I went to the office, and the person behind the counter told me that Dr. McBrien had left for the day. He tried to get me to make a new appointment. This is literally the first time I've made an appointment with a medical professional that they simply weren't there for. Not running behind, just simply not at the practice.
