Not a good eating disorder therapist
Telehealth
For an ED therapist I felt very unheard. I remember multiple instances of telling her my unrational ED/ disordered thoughts and she laughed and rolled her eyes. Her solution for BED seemed to be just loose weight, anorexia just eat more, and for bulimia just stop purging/exercising. Kinda conflicting when you have all 3. None of our conversations flowed or got deep. She would constantly be rescheduling me because something came up with her, but if I missed a session she took it very personally. I made a suicide attempt by overdosing and attended our session hours later while tripping balls because I still felt guilty from her scolding me about missing sessions before. She never knew something was wrong with me until I told her about the attempt over a month later. She didn't seem to understand my family's financial situation. She made me feel shame for saying my parents couldn't afford to get me to college or buy me a car as a high schooler, and I should push them for more.
