There's a lot so I'll leave bullet points -Dog barking throughout session; left covered in fur -Suggests smoking weed to a nurse who could get fired over it; to remedy this she suggested lying on a work drug screen -Does not offer real coping mechanisms; suggests you cut people out of your life and smoke weed -Cut sessions short by 35 minutes leaving 25 minute sessions and still bills for an hour -Did not wear shoes during sessions -Does not listen when you speak, just types and reads on her computer -Patient left feeling worse and more anxious than when he went in because she does not let you move past problems even if they're getting better -Does not end sessions gracefully; when an hour is up she will cut you off mid sentence to stop it There is a lot more so please go read my full Google review of Empowering Minds Counseling. Melinda is super easy to talk to and I always leave her office feeling understood. Its easy to get on her schedule and she handles everything very professionally.

Melinda is a brilliant beam of light in a world darkened by depression. Her compassion and support shine ithroughout the sessions. I have felt affirmed, validated, encouraged and challenged by her. She presents new ways of looking at old situations and brings a fresh perspective to that of using failed techniques to handle problems and deal with challenges. I find that she is helping me to "change my mind". I highly recommend her to those who are trying to do the same!

I love Melinda, she is so understanding. I look forward to talking with her every week because it always makes me feel better.

I got the impression that Melinda was not fully invested in helping me. She appeared distracted by her own problems. She could not recall anything that had been discussed in previous sessions. She also cancelled on me numerous times.
