I saw Melanie instead of the Dr. because I needed to be seen ASAP. I have been dealing with a condition for 5 years now that impacts my life greatly. My symptoms have become severely worse and I needed help and some kind of answer. Melanie only took 5 minutes to talk with me. She did not ask if I had any questions. She did not include me in the decisions she made for my care. It was very obvious she was discriminating based on my age. I am younger than most patients who see a cardiologist. I felt as if she was pushing me out the door to get to the next patient. She completely dismissed the fact that this is impacting my life greatly. Melanie did not explain anything to me about what I was experiencing. I did not feel heard at all. If you are not geriatric, you will not get the right care that you need.
