Patient Abandonment
I was assigned to Albe last year because I had previously working with a resident who ended up moving on to a different practice. I have Borderline Personality Disorder which requires hands-on, active care to maintain mental stability. Albe was always quite harsh and honestly kind of insensitive, but there’s limited options so I stuck with her. Last fall I had a mental break and missed a few appointments. The office notified me that I was in danger of losing my care with Albe due to missed appointments, so I really worked to try to get back above water mentally to keep up on my appointments. I have not missed an appointment since January 2024. In July 2024 I received a letter that I had “broken trust” (?) with Albe and that I was being discharged with the entire Henry Ford Outpatient Psychiatry department. I appealed for a review and Albe denied it with no option to stay and just see another provider, leaving me with no care to monitor my disorder.
