The Worst I’ve Seen (10+ years exp)
Telehealth
She does not care about you, I never cry and every time I saw her I was crying begging her to help me since the meds didn't work and she would just prescribe more. Given that, I wouldn’t be surprise if prescribing was incentivized. She has a 'mother knows best' attitude with no empathy or awareness of patients experiences. She literally told me I was 'doing just fine' being homeless and unable to work & severely mentally ill because I answered 'yes' on a survey question that I apparently did not understand. I wish I transferred away from her sooner. Immediately after leaving her I got put on some actually helpful medications from someone that LISTENS and collaborates with their patients on their care. In addition, she has no back up doctors or referrals for when she goes away, so you're out of luck if that happens- which it does. She also had multiple different portal changes. I have never, in my decade of seeing mental health professionals, encountered one so cold and uncaring.

Doesn't listen
Had me strung out on a whole range of medicine for over a year, never listened to me when I begged for changes, even when I shared what had worked for me in the past. Continued to throw more drugs at symptoms instead of asking about root problems like sleep. Turns out I had sleep apnea and it took my GP to find that. Go figure.

I had been seeing Dr. Thompson since the summer of 2020. She was not very personable and it felt like our appointments consisted of her checking off boxes when it came to how I was doing. I decided to terminate our relationship in April 2021. We were scheduled to meet in the middle of April and I was going to inform her that I would be seeking help elsewhere during that meeting. I waited 30 minutes on telehealth & she never showed up. So, I spoke with the secretary who told me to send an email about terminating our appointments. In the email where I addressed Dr. Thompson, I asked her for guidance on how to stop taking the Zoloft she prescribed me and she never responded to my email or reached out in any other capacity. Now, if I was someone who had life threatening mental health issues, her lack of communication & tact could have landed me in the ER.
