Initially it was going okay, but as the session continued he came across very assumptive, arrogant and condescending. Did not listen as much as he spoke. . Not our cup of tea. Will continue searching.

Our family found Mark to be a danger as a therapist. He frequently made assumptions about things. He would consistently ask our daughter about demon possession and witchcraft to which my daughter kept telling him no. He told my daughter that I was a narcissist and that I was an absent parent. He told me that I might have autism and that my daughter might be on the spectrum too. Dangerous assumptions for any family. He also told me that I was a mother, but not a mommy. He had no basis to make these assumptions. He never took the time to get to know us before spouting out these crazy things. We left after months and months of these antics. He was not helpful, but harmful as a therapist.

Mark Beal has a lot of experience and a lot of knowledge in his field. Unfortunately in our dealings with him this came out as: not listening well, assumptions, and arrogance. He gave us some great methods for helping our son- things we still use. He also had a good rapport w our son which I appreciated. But he left my husband and I feeling like terrible parents every week without support. (Told me I knew how to be “mother but not mommy” w/o telling me what to fix, made assumptions that our son was secretly struggling at school, threw out 3 different ideas about spiritual warfare possibly influencing the situation w/o giving us help). I’m reviewing because if I had seen reviews like this beforehand I would have gone in with my guard up, or not gone at all. Be ready to advocate for yourself and push back if you take your kids to see Mark.

He was very insightful, very supportive, and really focused on the therapeutic relationship. I was a little skeptical about some techniques he taught me, but they actually work to 1. Reduce my anxiety and 2. Regulate my emotions. Thanks, Mark.

I worked with Mark a few years ago for past child abuse issues that I had not dealt with so by the time I was in my 40’s, I was broken. Mark healed me of that past trauma, and without his help, I would not be the person that I am today. Thank you Mark. I hope that we can reconnect and I can continue my journey of healing. Beth

I found Mr Beal to be a poor to communicater. He was unable to adequately address any of my concerns and left the appointment feeling frustrated and having spent a good amount of money for nothing.

Relates to his patients and speaks in a calm manner. Very understanding and helpful.
