I have had at least 10 visits with Ms. Maria Fernandez since the day she arrived at my Baptist Primary Center. I have found her to be very knowledgeable in her medical trade,friendly,easy to talk with,and caring. She has been spot on in diagnosis,medication,and referring to Specialist as needed. I have complete confidence in her and appreciate her kind nature.

Dr. Fernandez is an excellent health provider. Her diagnostic skills are spot on. She listens and is very caring. I highly recommend Dr. Fernandez.

In my interactions with Ms. Fernandez I found her to be condescending. She showed nearly no interest in my input on my acute health issue. I ended up going to an urgent care walk-in facility, where the NP listened to me and was able to successfully treat me. I ultimately left Dr. Butcher as my PCP due to my experiences with his NP, Ms. Fernandez.

Failure to listen and have true dialogue: Maria showed disrespect to me as a patient by not listening to my concerns. She failed to order a basic test which with my symptoms and family history was more than justified. Even after a second visit with her and a diagnosis of pneumonia from ER, I had to fight for more tests and refuse her care plan to go home and "rest" a few more days. With my final diagnosis, I hope our experience together taught her to take a step back, don't assume and listen.
