Dr. Maria Curran, PHD

Dr. Curran does not really want to help people. There is no clear sense of how she is going to help or what it going to be achieved. Often it feels like she can’t remember one visit to the next. It does not seem like she has had much clinical experience, but rather chose to start her own business. There are small fees everywhere, they don’t easily take insurance, scheduling is often last minute and confusing. She does not appear to have a very helpful success rate in working with kids and families, but sows an awful lot of discord. Experience hurt our situation more than it helped and she did not want to adjust.

The best interest of my children was not protected. Dr. Curran does not ascribe to a parent taking responsibility for their actions that contribute to the breakdown of a parent/child relationship. Rather, "leave the past in the past" and move forward to reunification regardless of mental, emotional and psychologically detrimental effects on the children. Everything about our sessions pointed to an unhealthy dynamic and it is all playing out now. I wish I had never pursued counseling sessions for my children with Dr. Curran. The transition to "co-parenting" sessions was an absolute joke. Waste of time and money and served to harm more than help.

Maria has always been warm and friendly. My child likes working with her and the change I have seen in my child has been nothing less that phenomenal. Maria isn't afraid to tell hard truths but she tells it with a plan to move beyond and overcome. I would, and do, recommend her to all who need compassionate assistance.

Would not recommend. Our family dynamic declined significantly.
