I came to her to check and see if my just turned 1 year old was having issues with chewing or would have with speech. I wanted to make sure there weren’t any underlying issues. For starters, she showed up 30 min late. I had to wait outside the office with my 1 year old. Then she proceeded to rush through the appt and without any real analyzing (he did not eat in front of her or do any exercises for her to evaluate him), told me my son had all these issues, told me he had a tongue tie and he would likely need surgery, told me I should reverse and go back to feeding him only baby food, then referred him to a dentist for procedure, charged me her full fee, and rushed me out the door for her next appt. I decided to get additional opinions from 2 pediatricians, and they told me the exact opposite and reiterated that it was irresponsible to give me that advice. I didn’t listen to her and my son ended up with over 100 words by the time he was 18 months, and eats and chews completely normal.
