We took our kid to get help understanding his daily meltdowns, frustration intolerance, constant physical activity, and difficulties with communication. What we ended up with was an expensive report essentially telling us it was all our fault and that we should "try behavior charts." Fortunately, we did NOT let his negativity get us down, we did NOT give up on our kid, and we were eventually able to get them into an autism clinic which diagnosed ADHD and autism. Now that we know more about autism and what the markers are, we know how obvious this diagnosis should have been to any psychologist who cared enough to pay attention or listen to our concerns.
