Luisa Carreiro Powe, PA-C

Luisa is wonderful! I have been coming to Burke Internal Medicine for about 18 years, and the last couple of years Luisa has seen me and treated nearly all of my ailments. Most recently I was experiencing lower abdominal pain and called for a last minute appointment. Fortunately there had been a cancellation and Luisa was able to see me that morning. She asked me a few questions and poked me a few times, and then diagnosed me with acute appendicitis. She sent me straight to the hospital where they confirmed her diagnosis. I was then scheduled for an emergency appendectomy. Luisa had caught it before my appendix burst! In addition to being an excellent diagnostician, Luisa has an excellent manner with patients, is always pleasant, caring, an awesome listener, and is easy to talk to. I could not recommend a medical professional more highly.

Luisa was the primary care provider (PCP) for my wife and I for several years (at least 5). She has the expertise to give us confidence, yet is easy to talk to and treated us like people -- a great combination for a PCP! She handled the routine and the urgent with the same high level of attention and quality. I would strongly recommend her.

The most impressive thing about Luisa Carreiro Powe, PA-C, is that she takes the time to truly know and show concern for her patients. She has remembered me from each prior visit from the time I began visiting the practice four years ago. She is patient, supportive and competent in her medical care. I know that I can reach out with any concern or question. Ms. Carreiro Powe is thorough; asking me questions to make sure she understands. I'm glad I chose her!
