A fellow Therapist's opinion
I saw Lois for 2 sessions & decided to terminate during our 3rd session to seek therapy elsewhere. However, I was caught in a crisis (I am a mental health worker) & could not step away from helping my client. I called Lois 12 minutes after our session & apologized for my tardiness. She proceeded to say "Okay, well where are you?" in an agitated tone. I expressed why I was tardy & expected some understanding, considering she knows what I do for work. I explained that I would also be terminating (especially after that comment) & she said "Okay, well I wish you would have told me this before we scheduled this session." I understand the inconvenience of a "No Show", which is why I called to inform her. As a new MFT graduate & seasoned mental health worker, I felt that Lois had difficulty hiding her own disdain and emotions during our interactions. We are taught to maintain professionalism and a degree of decorum during frustrating moments. She did not. I do not recommend her.

Pleasant Experience - Provided Actionable Advice
I have never utilized therapy before and was admittedly a bit cynical. My appt was via video conference. However I felt my session with Louis was time well spent, she was quite helpful. Lois was very friendly and engaging, listened well, and she evaluated my sensitive family issue accurately. After my session, I felt better prepared and confident about using her advice on how to communicate with a spouse and manage a certain issue. It was a nice experience and I now look forward to a few follow-up sessions. I would recommend her for family/parenting/communication issues.

Louis Flaugh is the worst therapist I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. I should have know she was absolutely horrible since the only reviews I can find of her and as low as the review scale allows. My husband and I spent nearly an hour with her only to find out she didn’t listen to a single thing we said. I don’t drink nor do I do drugs (my husband has been in recovery for 15 years) yet she told me over and over ‘you need to stop using’ while pointing directly at me. I repeatedly told her I didn’t ‘use’ anything. My husband also told her I’d didn’t ‘use’ anything. Yet she said over and over to me ‘you need to stop using’. I finally asked her why she continued to say that to me when I don’t drink or do drugs. Her response was ‘I thought you said you used?’….??? Seriously? Try listening lady. She’s horrible. Our time with her was a waste.
