Liza Portanenko, PPS

Liza is an amazing therapist and human being. She looks at the root of a problem and is capable of handling all issues. She is patient and kind and will be very honest. She provided so much support for us and our daughter. So thankful we crossed paths with her, super thankful for her support. Loved working with her and she is the best!

My son was having the hardest time at school & having several explosive tantrums daily. I stumbled on Adapt one day after running around in what felt like the same circle trying to find the right resources with no success. I was at my breaking point a few days later when he was kicked out of his daycare & I progressively felt like we were doing everything we could do, but not being heard or helped. Liza happened to call me back the same day & immediately took me seriously, heard the desperation in my voice, & got us an appointment with her ASAP. Since then, she has exceeded our expectations in every way & truly been Heaven sent. She’s amazing at what she does & it’s not surprising to me that every other review on here testifies the same thing. It’s evident she cares about each of her clients as if they were families of her own. We recently graduated from her & it’s safe to say she has impacted our lives even beyond behavioral therapy. She’s become a friend & I’m so grateful for her!

My husband and I feel extremely thankful that Liza came into our lives to help us with my son's behavior. We had been struggling with many explosive tantrums at home and school. We could not find anyone to understand us and guide us. From day one Liza gave us the confidence and comfort we needed. My son has epilepsy and was taking a very strong medication to control the seizures, which caused many terrible side effects. Some of these were, mood swings, irritability and anxiety. We followed Liza's treatment plan and we are impressed on how amazingly our son improved with his behavior. Liza taught us so many skills that we can keep implementing and she is always there for us when we have a question or advice. I will forever be thankful for her.

Dr Portanenko has been an absolute blessing for us. She has been helping me through behavioral therapy with my oldest and giving parental advice the last few months. We’ve made quite the turn around. We started with a VERY VERY challenging 4 year old having about 8 tantrums a day. We’re now down to 1-2 a week. We started with a very noncompliant toddler to one that listens more often than not. We know that we have more that we can work on but without Dr. Portanenko, we wouldn’t even know how to get to the point we’re at. She’s honestly made such a difference in all of our lives. Not just my child’s. There really aren’t enough words to thank her enough for all she’s done for our family. She’s worked with us through the struggles of life with scheduling conflicts as well. She really goes above and beyond for her clients. We couldn’t have asked for better!

Dr. Portanenko has been a blessing to our family. When we began working with her we were dealing with quite a few disruptive behaviors from our child with just one of them being 36 tantrums a week. Dr. Portanenko firstly listened and honored our knowledge of our child and asked for our input when creating her recommendations. After six months of working with Dr. Portanenko tantrums we’re almost nonexistent and other disruptive behaviors reduces by 80-90%. She’s a true professional with vast experience and a caring, honest and humble human being. You won’t regret working with Dr. Portanenko.

I have know Dr. Portanenko for many years. An excellent practitioner and human being. I very much appreciate her attention to detail and very real concern and focus.

Liza is a smart therapist who is well versed when it comes to working a wide variety of child behavioral issues: both an excellent teacher and a good parental trainer I would very much turn to Ms. Portanenko again to help understand any issue my child may have and how to redirect their energy to positive outcomes.
