Starting therapy with Lisa helped me identify, understand, and solve for various trauma I have experienced throughout my life. I was nervous about starting therapy and the process of unpacking highly emotional, traumatic, challenging experiences (both past and present), but she made a safe space for me to open up with her. Lisa has provided tools that have drastically improved my quality of life. She helped uncover a deeper understanding around my challenges and how to move past them and prevent similar trauma to help me in the future. I needed help and support specifically around childhood trauma, spousal abuse, and setting healthy boundaries with my friendships and family. My self-worth, confidence as a whole, and ability to communicate effectively have all improved. I could not recommend Lisa enough - she has truly changed my life for the better.

Lisa Simmons Slater has been our family- mostly our kids- therapist for over 3 years now. She truly and genuinely cares about us. She is straightforward and clear about her concerns, questions , and recommendations while maintaining compassion and kindness. I highly recommend Lisa for ESPECIALLY teenagers and parents of teens. However, she has helped my husband and I navigate our personal challenges and has held space while each of us are vulnerable. An excellent therapist!

Lisa has always been warm and welcoming, and she’s a great listener. She also has helpful suggestions, even when I’d rather just keep my head buried in the sand. I’ve been seeing her for two years now, and she’s great.

She was not very helpful and quite judgemental, in particular about relationship issues. She is not trauma-informed nor is she culturally aware or culturally sensitive.

Could not be worse.

My teen daughter saw Lisa. It's total mistake. She is not train on teens, no basic knowledge of teen psychology. My daughter went down hill all the way, after 5 months with her, not even stabilizing. If you need someone for a teen, never go to her.
