Disappointed
On Friday we took our 6 year old to Urgent care where Merck was working. He had a bad cough, high fever and had just got his tonsils out the previous week so we were scared of infection. After a flu test, she sent him home concluding it was a virus. Saturday morning my husband told me she didn’t listen to his chest. So, I went back up there with my son and told them she didn’t listen to his chest last night and his cough isn’t going away. Merck immediately got defensive with me and told me she did check his chest so my husband “must’ve been on his phone”. I checked him from “head to toe and his lungs are fine”. She refused to re-check his lungs that morning.He kept getting worse, so Monday I took him to his regular pediatrician and she diagnosed him with Pneumonia. I don’t think Merck ever checked his lungs on Friday given that a few days later his lungs were not clear. She simply could’ve rechecked him on Saturday. The fact that she just blew off his symptoms baffles me.
