I feel so lucky to have had Laurie there with me when we needed her most! Could not have imagined a calmer, more respectful provider who gave me the care I needed.

Laurie has taken care of me for several years. She provided prenatal care and happened to be on-call when I was in labor! She was so caring and supportive throughout my long labor. I could not have asked for a more professional, dedicated and loving midwife.

Very poor listening. Practice should be trauma-informed, more helpful and less authoritarian. How is it helpful to make someone feel bad about their body when they are pregnant (and as such, their options for not gaining weight are very limited, not to mention stress inducing and no other medical professional noted this as an issue)? The focus of care should instead be on best ways to support patients or at least engage in more caring ways to discuss weight if it is truly necessary (while again, no other midwife did this). I also did not appreciate being talked down to on my way to the ER, especially when it turned out that I had to be induced because of a serious urgent medical issue linked with the symptoms I described, which she did not see as problematic. These are big problems.

I agree with previous review that she can be condescending and did not take symptoms seriously.

Can be very condescending and can miss important issues of concern while placing too much emphasis on minor details. For example, through lecturing a patient with a disclosed history of an eating disorder on a net weight gain of less than 15 lbs by her final trimester; in front of an intern. Or even worse, through not taking medically urgent symptoms seriously. I would not recommend this provider.
