Lauren Hughes, PMHNP

I have been seeing Dr. Hughes now for over a year. She is absolutely wonderful. Lauren is very intelligent and has a broad knowledge of medications and treatment options. She takes the time to explain and go through all of your meds, as well as listens to all of your issues and concerns. It's rare to find a psychiatrist who takes the time to visit with you like she does. I live in Plano (north of Dallas) and wouldn't change doctors for anything. As far as the facility is concerned, it is always clean and organized. Their receptionist is very friendly as well. I can't thank Lauren enough for what she has done for me.

I felt judged by Lauren the moment the session began. After explaining my issues, she immediately began placing labels on me. Her tone came across as arrogant and condescending, which is not what patients need if they're already under duress. I'm autistic and she scoffed when I told her I may need to step out if I began feeling overstimulated/overwhelmed; like she didn't believe me or thought I was making it up. There were also things said that would indicate to me she has a poor opinion of men so if you are male, proceed with caution. I don't think she is equipped to treat patients with severe psychological disorders. If you have mild/moderate depression, she may be able to help you but otherwise, you may want to steer clear. Just my opinion based on my experience.

I just moved to the area and went to several facilities and Lauren and her Team are the best around in my opinion. I highly recommend Lauren.

Lauren is not only friendly, but great in her psychiatric care. I’m finally at a place where I can be the “best me” because of treatment from Lauren. So thankful for her services and her team.
