Lauran Jacks, LCSW

I had only 2 sessions with Dr. Lauran Jacks. She was helpful when I had sessions, don’t get me wrong. But after the 2nd Session, I never heard back from her. I have anxiety and depression and therapy is a need for my weekly routine. She never tried reaching out to see if I can schedule or anything. Even getting a Zoom link from her was very hard to navigate. I also was supposed to receive a ESA certificate for my cat. She promised but never did. The only time she had reached out to me was regarding to billing and my address. This was not a fun situation to deal with as I was trying to get my mental health on track especially as a first responder. I’m just going to go with my jobs resources as they have been already helpful. I just hope I didn’t put too much on our sessions and she had worked with first responders and POC clients :(

Dr. Jacks quickly instilled confidence with my wife and me in her understanding of the complex situation with our teenage son and his unwillingness to deal with the affects of ADHD and his unhealthy coping mechanisms. She identified the heart of issues with our son and our parenting approach that we weren't able to recognize on our own, and she has provided amazing perspective and tangible strategies for us. Her advise and perspective have been invaluable. She's an expert in her field, and we highly recommend working with her.

I got incredibly lucky to be placed with Laura Jacks when I sought help. I attribute her as an integral part in saving my life during undoubtedly a very difficult time. Her expertise was invaluable. I am forever grateful for what she was able to provide through her years of practice. I wish every provider seeking help had the acumen she possesses but I’m aware that it’s after years of dedication and knowledge of human behavior and psychology that she could provide insight to me. I have yet to meet another therapist with that level.

How is this person able to practice? She's creepy, she's mean. Gave me nightmares. Scolding is one of her methods! Not the right method for everyone, she admitted later. Asked for help w/ motivation, she told me not to try! I've lost confidence in US mental healthcare bc a beast like this gets a license.
