Dr. Laura Bagwell, DPT

I'm surprised by some of the negative comments here. I worked with Dr. Bagwell and found her to be very knowledgeable and caring. She was able to assist me with pain reduction. I've seen other PTs in the area and none of them were able to help reduce my pain the way Dr. Bagwell did.

I saw Ms. Bagwell for PT and found her to be difficult and unhelpful. She did not explain exercises appropriately and did not correct my form when executing said exercises. I was in a great deal of post-operative back pain (later discovered to be an allergy to the titanium rods from my recent surgery). Not only did she not show me how to do exercises correctly, she had me doing ones that I was not physically able to do and then accused me of malingering. I went to another physical therapist and told her of my experience with Ms Bagwell. I was re-evaluated and given a new therapy program. I flourished with a competent, experienced therapist who also was encouraging and supportive — all things Ms. Bagwell is not.

Absolutely would have her again as my physical therapist! She is wonderful

I would highly recommend Dr. Bagwell. I went to several MD's and PT's without success prior to seeing Dr. Bagwell. Before seeing her, I was hesitant that my pain would decrease. She took a new approach to treating my pain, and she looked at other areas that could be causing it. I was very surprised when my pain went away and stayed away. I would highly recommend her as a result. I am surprised by the other comment since she always told me not to push into pain. If I had pain, she would modify the treatment so that I would not have pain. I have also overheard her telling other patients that she worked with the same thing about not pushing into pain. She was also very nice and pleasant to work with.

I would not recommend Laura Bagwell due to her poor bedside manner. She repeatedly second guessed my judgment when exercises were causing pain, and she spoke to me in a condescending tone. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and saw her a second time even though I didn't like her during the first visit. I canceled my remaining appointments with her and rescheduled with a different physical therapist who is much more experienced and professional.
