I went to see a dermatologist for a routine mole check. The PA examined me. She asked whether I had ever had any skin problems and I mentioned a rash between my fingers about a year ago, and that my doctor thought it might have been eczema or a reaction to some new dish soap, and had prescribed cortisone cream, which cleared it up. The PA diagnosed me with a chronic skin condition involving blisters and sweat, even though I did not have blisters and did not say I had, and did not have symptoms during the check-up. I had a temporary condition that occurred on one occasion. I was charged an extra $25 for this diagnosis. When I called their office, office staff told me they would review it, then still sent me her bill for the additional $25. I hope the extra $25 is worth it to lose my family's business. It is unfortunate when it's about money. There never should have been a diagnosis when there weren't any symptoms and I did not ask for a diagnosis or treatment for any skin condition.
