With how in-demand obstetric providers are it is hard to believe what happened to me. First, I am a nurse so I am very particular with my healthcare. I interviewed with Kirsten Garner at Swedish Midwifery and when I listed my expectations during my obstetric care, she agreed and was enthusiastic to everything I was saying. I was elated to find a provider who would give me the autonomy to take care of myself and my unborn child. Unfortunately, it was all a lie to get me as another patient. She started to make demands that I have ultrasounds and that I drink that nasty carcinogenic drink to check for gestational diabetes that I want nowhere near me or my unborn child. Every appointment became a fight. There are other ways to check for gestational diabetes but she and her other midwifes would not listen. Kirsten Garner is the director. I would not trust this entire clinic. Every patient deserves autonomy, you do not have to do anything that they tell you, it is all a recommendation.
