Kira Isenberg, PA-C

In her approach as an internist, Kira Isenberg PA fails to produce a holistic treatment plan combining informed advice about physical health and mental health. For example, I signed a release so that she could regularly contact my psychiatrist with any questions. Nonetheless, she never deferred to my psychiatrist's better judgment, instead persistently billing Medicare for her unannounced 'depression screenings.' I became perplexed since I already relayed to her an official decision by an administrative law judge at the Social Security Administration documenting my specific disability -- which is not depression. In doing so, I expected that she would naturally follow up with my psychiatrist when she had any concerns about my mental health whatsoever. Unfortunately, by ignoring patient written questions in the online record, Ms. Isenberg just appears as an uncaring, inattentive, dismissive, and disrespectful general practitioner.

If you need a primary care physician at Albany Med, avoid Ms. Isenberg. Even though I gave her official documentation about 100% approved Medicare annual wellness visits, she instead billed for a complete physical, not covered by Medicare and leaving me liable for the full amount. She doesn't appear to know the basics about diabetes. Although my A1C hovered around 7, she still didn't adjust the units of my insulin pen. She seems lazy, only providing common sense referrals when asked. Particularly careless about replies to questions in the electronic medical chart. Pleasant human being, but simply too inexperienced to trust her medical judgment calls.
