I’m an adult man with autism. So naturally my brain works differently than others. Acceptance, self love, self discovery, coping, & taking care of myself (ie hygiene, motivation, socializing, etc) were things I needed to work on. I was also in a very dark place due to my depression. But since I’ve gone my entire life masking my autism and masking my depression, I inadvertently looked like I wasn’t suffering on the surface. I tried to explain all that during my first session. Strangely enough, my neurodivergence was never again brought up or explored. After just four sessions, Kim heavily implied that I didn’t need therapy anymore because it looked like I was in a good spot in my life. I was taken back by this. For the sake of not wasting more of my time & money I obliged. I was never given a chance. I, like most other autistic adults, felt given up on. I still couldn’t function the way I needed to and I was still having depressive episodes. I hope this helps those who are looking
