Overlapping with her words
Dr.Kelly is very aggressive. She never lets you speak! She talks over you and if you tell her you don’t feel comfortable with something or that it doesn’t fit in your life, she questions you and attacks. She makes you cry instead of being empathic then gaslights you. I wouldn’t recommend her to my worse enemy.

Too quick to judge
I Only had a few sessions with Dr Aissen, before our purpose was deemed unnecessary. However, she was very quick to take sides and pass judgment on my situation instead of keep a neutral open minded approach to helping the situation. She was very quick to label issues without full context, included her own personal bias and opinions into conversations without keeping open dialogue. Did not feel very comfortable in the room or welcome from the first session. There was no talking through anything just attacking and labeling.I would not recommend anyone with a “traditional” or even semi-conservative views as it would cause immediate conflict with your situations outlook or progress.

Experienced and Empathetic therapist
As someone who recently moved to Florida, it took time to research and find the right fit in a therapist. Thankfully I found Kelly and after several sessions I am happy to say she is absolutely the right fit. Each week, Kelly creates a safe space, free of judgement and full of empathy for me to share whatever is happening in my life at that moment. She's passionate about the work of counseling and supporting her clients, and equally passionate about the city of Gainesville, and as a newbie to this city she recommends things to see and do in the city. Highly recommend this experienced and empathetic therapist!

Unprofessional
My 17 year old daughter is suffering from depression and anxiety as a new student at UF. Despite the fact that we saw some bad reviews about Kelly Aissen, since she was closed to UF, had availability and we are anxious for our daughter to see someone soon to help we choose to overlook. We were absolutely dumb founded to hear that she got into a political debate with my daughter despite the fact that my daughter resisted engaging. Kelly persisted and began belittling my daughter's political views and questioned her judgement instead of focusing on my daughters depression and anxiety. it is unprofessional and hurtful and Kelly Aissen showed No consideration for her client and her profession.

Kelly helped me get through the hardest time of my life by challenging me to set healthy boundaries and be honest with myself about my needs and whether they were met. Like all therapists, she’s not the best fit for everyone. I found her to be tough but empathetic, and I credit my current happiness to the things I learned about myself, with her help. I saw her fairly regularly for about a year and have continued to do a few off-and-on sessions when I felt myself slipping into old patterns.

A close friend of mine sees Dr. Aissen and recommended her so I scheduled an appointment. It was awful. She is confrontational which I don’t always see as a negative (since therapists are supposed to call you on your BS) but she is beyond belittling. The other reviewers comments were true for me as well. She interrupts, puts words in your mouth and seemed all around incredibly hostile. Maybe it was me? I dunno but she was a very poor fit for me. I found a great practitioner for me however ??. If you see Kelly and it goes badly, please don’t be discouraged. There IS a therapist for you. ??????

Dr. Aissen has been influential in helping me work through my depression and supporting me in learning emotional and sober coping skills. I despised the idea of counseling until I started my work with her. This year's work with her has helped me live the life I've always wanted to.

This therapist is confrontational, demeaning, judgemental. At second visit, I advised her I did not want to schedule to meet her again. I've never had such a terrible counseling experience prior to meeting with this "therapist".
