Very good psych physician assistant.
Katrina Klaren, PA is an excellent physician assistant at the office of Dr. David Miller, MD. I was a patient with her for a few years. She is a caring person and will try to help you if you honestly explain exactly your situation. As with most psychiatric practices, they concentrate mostly on using medication to treat issues such as depression, but can refer you to nearby psychologists or clinical social workers for talk therapy (usually with one hour talk sessions). However, I'd suggest FIRST going to a psychologist or clinical social worker, since talk therapy (such as cognitive behavioral therapy) can often work without medication (which can have some side effects). They can then work with Katrina or Dr. Miller if medication is needed. It's a small office with only one admin assistant, so calls may go to voicemail and not be returned until the next day. You have to show up on time for appointments - or things can get delayed in the afternoon. Or else make a morning appt.

I had an appointment (telehealth) and I was ready and prepared for my appt, but got no login information or any communication beyond the reminder email the day before. I called at 3, 4 & 5 minutes after my appt was supposed to start. As per office policy my calls went to voice mail. I left vm with front desk and Katrina. I did not hear from anyone all day. Finally at 5:00 pm I sent a message to David Miller via the portal, and still no response. The next day as I started my work day and was in meetings and unable to answer my phone I started getting a couple of calls. I tried calling back at my availability and again left VMs. Played phone tag, and finally got an answer. At this point the receptionist started berating me about them attempting to contact me all morning and Katrina joins in saying she had records and I was at fault. Pushing me to an severe anxiety attack caused by what they diagnosed. To then only get a registered letter that they were dropping me as a patient. Read Less

I used to trust the psych med community. NEVER again. Perhaps they should be educated on the true ramifications of a drug before prescribing it. Perhaps they should learn about informed consent and allow the patient to decide whether he/she is willing to take the risks from these drugs. Ever hear of paradoxical reactions? AD W/D syndrome IS in the DSMV. Take a Benzo for more than the 2 to 4 weeks and then try to get off of it! VERY sad that big pharma and doctors are lining their pockets at the cost of people’s livelihood. I will never forget when she told me “disabled people belong with disabled people.” I am FAR from disabled. I am OFF all psychotropic drugs, after being poly-drugged, and can truly face my challenges without something destroying my brain and CNS. These drugs ARE disabling. PLEASE do your homework before filling a prescription that could prove to be a prescription for problems. In closing, it is the lay community that can educate you FAR MORE than most
