This was my first appointment with Kathryn for osteoporosis. After explaining to me bone formation and bone loss using a model, we discussed my specific bone health history, test results, and the various treatment options available to me. I appreciated that she listened to me, and together we agreed on a plan of action.

Most knowledgeable provider for osteoporosis
At my new patient visit, Kathryn spent over an hour with me educating me on bone health. She reviewed my history in detail (and even knew most of it prior to seeing me-- she actually read my prior chart!), and then explained how to read a bone density scan and what my labs meant. She made everything so understandable and did not talk down to me or stop listening when I told her my concerns about the medications. She addressed all of my concerns and I decided to have the recommended treatment. Well, I saw her back for my followup bone scan and I can say, I NO LONGER HAVE OSTEOPOROSIS!!! Kathryn can work miracles and I highly recommend her to anyone!

I saw Katie for osteoporosis and she recommended a treatment for me. I had some expected side effects and she reached out to me every day to make sure that I was OK. She told me I was part of the Osteo/ortho family. She made sure I didn’t feel alone. I appreciate her knowledge and kindness and compassion.

Every time I have went to Katy, When I go to her I know I am going to get a shot. She comes in the room with a smile on her face .. while she is give's me the shot she sings (that is to take me to agood happy place) it works ever time. I am not fond of the Cortisone shot. I don't leave my appointment without Katy explaining everything to me any fears I have I leave them behind me as she is so thorough. She is a true angel in her profession.

My daughter broke her arm last month and she just fell in love with Katy! She made us all feel better about a scary situation, and my daughter actually looked forward to her appointments. She took the time to explain the x rays and answer my millions of questions about the cast. All my kids are in sports, so I keep her card handy in my wallet.

biography

I am a certified fracture liaison with the National osteoporosis foundation in addition to having 10 years of orthopedic surgery experience. I treat about 2000 patient each year for osteoporosis in our multidisciplinary bone health program.
