Kathleen Hollwig, MS

Kathleen turned my trauma of grieving into one of the worst experiences. I utilized her service, or lack thereof, through TelaDoc. Upon arriving to the telephone consultation late, she made little to no effort to make the experience a somewhat positive one given the 'reason for call' selection I had made. Let's start off by saying, she also cancelled my first appointment an hour after it was originally scheduled because she was 'not available.' She told me several times, while answering her questions, that I can't control the call and I needed to let her ask me questions and allow her to talk. Reaching out and asking for help is something people don't often do, and when a 'clinician' acts and responds in the way that she does, it's obvious why people no longer seek help. She degraded me and made me feel like the grief and trauma that I had experienced after a sudden and traumatic loss was funny. She laughed as she repeated back to me what I was seeking help for. Then ended the call.

Wow! My experience is the exact opposite of the other reviewers. I am a trauma survivor and have found Ms. Hollwig to be a great counselor. Her advice is very pragmatic. She's a "no nonsense" kind of gal. She tells me what I need to hear, not what I wish to hear. Isn't that why I'm there in the first place? Her demeanor is on the more detached side; however, I have never felt unsafe nor put down. I had a suicidal meltdown once in her office and she professionally dealt with me by calling my physician and spouse who took care of the rest. In her very quiet way, I know she cares.

Similar experiences as other reviewers. Ended my session early. Didn't feel like a safe space and immediately felt judged.

Does not provide a safe therapeutic space ... extremely rigid and parochial in her thinking and outlook. Hollwig projected her own beliefs and values onto my story. By not showing acceptance, and by actively questioning and denying my experience, she re-wounded me on the very issue I came to present. This person is dangerous, and should not be allowed to practice in any capacity.

Highly unprofessional. I actually had to end the session early. She is patronizing and incapable of providing help. She has been reported.
