Dr. Kathleen Donaghy, PHD

You are better off spending your money on a vacation. She is rude and not helpful!

Terrible! Ignores questions you ask outside of apt. You get your “50 mins” and you’re cut off. Unless she’s making $$ she won’t help! Stay away/ waste of time/ I canceled all future apts with her after just 2 times!

She cares. She listens. She presents her thoughts clearly. She's open to questions and her patients' ideas. She's helped me move forward with my life. I can't thank her enough.

Excellent and well-educated in traditional psychology and CBT, and also has expertise in alternative therapies. She is compassionate and caring, and I always leave her therapy sessions with a sense that we accomplished something that will be very useful in improving my family relationships and personal wellbeing.

I find Dr. Donaghy very easy to talk with. She has always listened to me well and showed compassion for my difficulties. She has introduced me to some very helpful thinking and processing skills that I have successfully used between our sessions. I have recommended her to friends who have also found her services to be beneficial. If you are open to examining your own thoughts and behaviors in new ways and want to understand yourself better, I would not hesitate to encourage you to meet with her. Dr. Donaghy will invite you to view your situation from a larger perspective - a spiritual perspective that may challenge you, but will certainly open your eyes and help you make connections and find meaning through your challenges. I find that she helps me see situations in different ways and is completely compassionate for my feelings. This isn't a doctor who will allow you to wallow in complaints without helping you find solutions - I like that forward motion!

I feel compelled to leave this review for the safety and well-being of people seeking therapy. On my third meeting with Dr. Donaghy, she told me, "It seems like you think the world is out to get you. I don't know why that is. Maybe it's karma." I said, "Like for doing bad things?" And she said, "Yes, I don't know what bad things you did in this life. Maybe it wasn't even this life. Maybe you were a slave owner or something in a past life." First, I don't think the world is out to get me. Second, if I did, maybe she should heIp me understand why I might feel that way. Third, even if you believe in such things, there's not a whole lot I can do about my past lives! She also said, "You worry about things that don't matter." Well, they matter to me. And that's pretty much the opposite of anything anyone wants to hear. People want to hear validation, not to be told that our feelings are not warranted. I think her "counseling" could be very dangerous for some people.

Dr. Donaghy is magnificent I've seen four different pyschologists over the last 23 years and Dr. Donaghy is outstanding in her approach, using a variety of methods for therapy. CBT, Meditation, Talk Therapy & Hypnosis & most of all & whats new to me is her spirituality. I, highly recommend anyone, open minded, willing to self examine their life, listen & follow her guidance, you will make progress with her. You have to open & committed! I now consider her my life-coach & spirit guide.

On the phone when she was so compassionate when we scheduled my wife's appointment. it was to be 1 hour(8AM) before her normal hours. Shortly before 8 I called to let her know we were on the way to the hospital. My wife was admitted, and hospitalized for over a week. After playing phone tag over the holidays, we spoke again and she was, quite frankly put off by my wife deciding to get sick. We will find someone who cares.
