Unprofessional and lacks knowledge
Karla couldn’t practice wo her calculator the one she uses to cut all the meds with and she told me opioids don’t relieve pain that they actually make pain worse so I went home and asked my husband bc he’s a pharmacist and he smiled widely and politely said NO Karla was always very up up or very down Please be careful with Karla she’s very dangerous After 15yrs of being in pain management Karla called me up on her own personal phone and was yelling at me and she told me she was terminating my pain contract I started crying and asking her what I did and she yelled oh you’ll be fine then she hung up on me Then she left me with only 2and a half weeks of my pain meds after I had been on them 15yrs I’m miserable every day I’m only 61 and I’m now in Palliative care bc of this and I’ve lost 55lbs in 7months Everyone think twice before you ever think about seeing this messy nurse!

Terrible Doctor Disgrace to the Medical Profession
Terrible. My mother was a patient of hers for years. She treated my mom poorly at times, other times she was nice as pie. Cut her off of pain management based off of something that didn't happen. We've had to call in Palliative Care now. If you are reading this and considering going to this woman, DON'T. Go anywhere but here.

I've been seeing her for a long time...
I read some of the negative comments and they were over getting paper scripts ready. They haven't done that for 2 years. The prescription goes straight to pharmacy now. Solves that issue. Everyone has their own opinion, mine is always positive.

Karla Stapes is completely incompetent as a NP. Like others have said she talks down to you and thinks she knows everything. Being in the medical field myself. I know enough to know better. Even patients with chronic EDS which is very debilitating and painful but all she cares about is cutting your meds. Dr. Hanson was caring and would listen to pts.

Karla Stapes is the worst nurse practitioner I have ever seen. She does not listen to you. She cancels treatments for no good reason. She talks down to you when you question her treatment. She acts like you are waisting her time. She doesn’t care about her patients Don’t waste your time seeing her.

The staff is very close to incompetent. They advised a script was ready and I drove the 1/2 to get it but there was no script and "I should have gotten a name, Karla is out of the office until the end of next week"

Karla and her team lack communication skills. I have called in numerous times with urgent requests and I get the statement of "we will mark it as urgent and send it back to the nurses." Having had this happen twice with me, BOTH times I didn't receive a call...at all. I had to wait until the end of the day to follow up myself, even then, I end up having to wait and follow up myself the next day. Karla is easily agitated at questions and comments she doesn't agree with.
