I found her to have some lovely qualities including a great education, but also defensiveness and trouble owning her role in the tougher aspects of how things went. In a therapeutic relationship, one really best listen and validate, in my opinion. I now see her working with risk management projects and saw something about “difficult patients” or “difficult clients”, or something of that nature. That frightened me in the context of her role in the community, because while I duly applaud provider self care, it cannot come at the undue expense of clients past or present. Clients giving feedback is not a shunnable offense. In any case, most certainly practice is tricky, but of anyone I think made some human errors, asked for feedback, then reacted personally affronted by it, I personally wouldn’t choose her as a neutral clinician or representative of ethical risk management in the community. Clients have stories to tell, feelings and risk management of their own to surf. I wish her well.
